A summer camp wedding is the perfect destination wedding for the client who wants a relaxed, but all encompassed vacation weekend for their celebration. A relaxing destination wedding at an established summer camp like Camp Galilee allows everyone to enjoy an extended amount of time socializing, but in a more budget friendly way and, better yet, all on the same property. For Rachael and Garrett, who both previously worked at Camp Galilee, it was the perfect location because it is a place near and dear to both their hearts.
Matt and Patrice have been together for all of their adult lives. They never originally intended to marry, feeling together wholly outside of convention and societal norms. Patrice's late mother, however, wanted nothing more than to see them commit their lives together in the bond of marriage and when she was diagnosed with an aggressive terminal illness, Matt and Patrice planned a wedding. With crystal clear blue waters, the mountain backdrop of Lake Tahoe, and white sandy beaches, Sand Harbor State Park is one of the best locations on Lake Tahoe to elope or have a small intimate wedding. Lake Tahoe is an incredibly special place to Jeremy and Siobhan and their intimate perfectly planned event reflected that.
Since Julieanne and Mark had originally wanted to get married on a boat, they decided that if they were going to elope, it should absolutely also be on a boat! Mariela and Andrew had a dual location wedding: a ceremony and cocktail hour at The Landing Resort and Spa on their rooftop wedding deck, followed by a reception, dinner, and dancing at the absolutely incredible Tahoe River House Retreat in Meyers, CA, one of the ONLY private estates in South Lake Tahoe that allows for weddings and events. It was an intimate day that was almost completely DIY. Beth and Sally bucked tradition and did many things that I find standard in LGBT+ weddings, like getting ready together and processing together down the aisle. It was representative of both of them and their time together - they designed their own gifts, artwork, invites and florals. I LOVE backyard weddings. I love the simplicity. I love the camaraderie. I love the uniqueness. I love that people make it their own. I love that there are usually long tables with family style dining and open seating plans. I love dancing under twinkle lights and stars.
