Northstar Wedding

Northstar Wedding | Truckee, CA | Kendra + Tom

I have never seen a bride so incredibly full of laughter as Kendra.  From start to finish, not only was she throwing her head back in huge guffaws, but so was every single person around here.  This was my first time photographing a Northstar Wedding in Truckee, CA and I must say – their staff and venue is incredible.  From a gorgeous mountain top ceremony and cocktail hour to a evening reception under a tent in the village, everything was flawless.  The food was incredible, the staff was amazing and Ike and Martin not only are comedians, but had the dancefloor jumping from start to finish.

Tahoe Family Photos

Tahoe Family Portraits | Galvez Family

I have a ridiculous number of gorgeous golden Tahoe family sessions to share from this summer.  These giggling kids and their incredibly wonderful parents were a blast to tromp around in the woods with!  We held their sessions at one of my favorite family portrait locations, Valhalla Estate.  It’s a favorite of mine simply because it offers a little bit of everything – the lake, which everyone wants, and forest and meadow, which is what I want for that golden backlit dreamy light.

Tahoe Engagement Session

Tahoe Engagement Session | Caitlin + Brad | Sneak Peek

Caitlin and Brad met while attending school in one of my favorite cities, Tucson, AZ. Brad grew up in Reno and after years of the heat in the southwest, the pair was ready to return to the mountains and four seasons.  Since Caitlin is newer to the Reno-Tahoe area, she really wanted to highlight the gorgeousness that fall in the area has to offer and this golden late afternoon light was the perfect fit for this rad duo.  Although I can’t wait to share more images from their awesome Tahoe engagement session, these few frames will just have to do for now!

Squaw Valley Stables Wedding

Squaw Valley Stables Wedding | Andy + Sarah

I have so many amazing weddings to tell you about.  SO MANY.  I love all my clients.  All the weddings.  All the dance parties.  This dance party, however, was EXTRA epic and this wedding was extra wonderful.  Things that you should know about this awesome couple: they both came from a film background so we clearly were meant to be friends.  They met in a bar called Happy Endings.  Seriously.  Andy can BREAK DANCE.  Photo evidence below.

I originally flew down to Los Angeles for Sarah and Andy’s ridiculously adorable Culver City engagement session that had all my favorite things: breakfast, day drinking and exploring.  After having such an amazing time with them, I knew their wedding was going to be incredible and I looked forward to it all summer. Now, I keep reliving their Squaw Valley Stables wedding in their photos, wishing we could re-do it all over again.

Andy had originally proposed to Sarah in Tahoe and so it was only fitting that they wed there.  Squaw Valley Stables wasn’t actually their original venue; they had picked out another one that was cancelled mere months before the wedding. It was a blessing in disguise because the stables were the absolute perfect location for these two hiking and mountain loving adventurers from Southern CA.  During their vows, Sarah pledged to continue dragging Andy up any mountain he would follow her up and he pledged to continue following her up any mountain she wished.  The night was topped off with a wedding party entrance featuring choreographed dance moves and then an even more epic five song choreographed father-daughter dance. Toss in some break dancing and Journey sing alongs and really, what more could you ever wish for?  Clearly, nothing.
