Dangberg Home Ranch

Dangberg Home Ranch Engagement | Toni + Justin

Toni and Justin’s really wanted a rustic ranch feel for their engagement session, in which they were hoping to utilize her grandfather’s vintage 1940s Chevy truck.  He lives in Gardnerville and when they asked for location recommendations, I was quick to recommend the Dangberg Home Ranch, a venue that I absolutely love.   I photographed Emma and Austin’s wedding there this past fall and fell head over heals for it!  The park is beautiful and located just at the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas of Tahoe, with breathtaking views and great afternoon light.

Dangberg Home Ranch Wedding

Dangberg Home Ranch Wedding | Gardnerville, NV | Emma + Austin

Austin and Emma’s Dangberg Home Ranch wedding left me swooning.  What an incredible venue!!  Overlooking the expanse of the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada mountains, the ranch is just minutes from Minden and Gardnerville, NV but because of it’s expansive swath of ranch land, feels all alone in the valley.  The view is unbeatable but like most days in the Nevada valley, the wind rages through there late in the day.  It didn’t dampen any spirits on this weekend though and Emma and Austin’s guests danced the night away thanks to protective tents surrounding the dancefloor.  A delicious family style dinner courtesy of Roundabout catering really topped off the evening and left me happy and full!

Emma and Austin’s gorgeous wedding is just the start of their new adventures.  Although they have strong ties to the Carson Valley, this newly wedded couple is moving to Phoenix next week for new experiences together!

Rustic Backyard wedding

Gardnerville Backyard Wedding | Ana + Phil

Esta es mi amiga Ana.  Ella se ríe mucho.  Ella es de Peru y su familia viajò a Tahoe por su boda con Phil.

This is my friend Phil.  He smirks when Ana laughs.  Phil is from Gardnerville and grew up in the small town outside Tahoe.

The two have been friends for many years before becoming a couple, skiing our home mountain, Kirkwood.  They were wed in an absolutely perfect Gardnerville backyard wedding at their own home, filled with side splitting laughs, a vintage car with sweet hydrolics, portraits at their friends nearby ranch, house wine from local favorite J.T. Basque Restaurant, and dance-worthy tunes from our favorite local DJ, Dave Berkman.  Even more impressive, however, was the permanent structure of a backdrop that Phil and his friends built for my photo booth: it was absolutely ridiculous and shall put all other photo booths to shame for all of eternity.

I’m so excited for Ana and the little family of chickens and dogs these two people have happily carved out for themselves.  My biggest wish for my two good friends is that they are able to ski into their happy future in the killer winter that Tahoe and our mountains had better have this year!  Sent it!

Gardnerville Backyard Wedding | Ana + Phil | Sneak Peek

Ana is one of my closest friends in Tahoe.  We share wine and tons of laughs on a monthly, if not weekly, basis.  I don’t normally photograph weddings for friends, because frankly, I’d rather dance party and get drunk on too much wine and enjoy myself, but I knew that Ana and Phil were having a super small, super budget backyard wedding and that it would mean a lot to them if I stepped in and helped out.  I’m so thankful I did.  The two of them worked for almost an entire year to get their backyard ready for the wedding and holy smokes, it was gorgeous!  Not to mention, Ana can’t go five minutes without cracking up so the wedding photos are hysterical.  I can’t wait to share more from their amazing day, but until then, here’s a few of my favorite moments so far from their Gardnerville backyard wedding

Ana and Phil: congrats.  I love y’all to the moon and back!
