Not everyone is totally jazzed to brave frigid temperatures, snow filled trees and the need for nine layers while taking family photos. The McDonald Family falls into this camp. Morning mimosas and family giggles while playing with their brood of small tykes was more their style. I joked after a week of 12 family portraits between Christmas and New Years that there was a wealth of things promised to small children in my wake to try to gain compliance or at least a straight face during photo sessions. These promises included, but were not limited to: a cookie, more cookies, extra cookies, jewelry, marshmallows, ice cream, a puppy, legos, a movie, extra ipad time, candy and a pony. I had an absolute blast capturing the candid antics of this family at their Incline Village family portrait session. Their kids were, at any given moment, awesome, hysterical or falling apart and I loved every minute of it.
If you were thinking about grabbing some fall portraits in Tahoe, now is the time! The colors on trees close to water sources are finally changing and it won’t last for long. Dave, Jess and Jack wanted some fall colors for their family photos and holiday cards and I went sluething for just the spot. At the right time in the evening, the golden California light backlights this meadow just perfectly. Time is running out though so book your family portrait today!
Zephyr Cove Resort continues to be one of my favorite places to photograph family portraits in Tahoe. The endless options on it’s giant boulders on the beach offer great shade when you need it, new perspectives to keep your creativity fresh, and killer sunsets. The Atalig family was visiting from the Bay Area and really wanted a wonderful memento of their family vacation and a Tahoe sunset portrait session seemed like the perfect souvenier!
I am head over heels for this smart funny athletic wonderful Senior from Olympia, WA and all of her images from our session. I’m honored she chose me as her Tahoe senior portrait photographer while she was on summer vacation in Homewood with her family.
There’s more from this session to come, but in the meantime, I have this stunner of an image to share.
I had such a giggling fun time with this amazing South Tahoe High School Senior. Riley will be graduating shortly onto new adventures that she’s super excited about at Chico State, where she will play soccer. I’m super excited that she chose me to be her South Tahoe Senior Portrait Photographer and I can’t wait to share more images with you all from our hilarious and fun sunset portrait session!
