Jackie and Rick are pretty awesome humans.  First of all, when I promised to only cuss in front of their mothers three times or less, they said I could cuss as much as I wanted.  Second, if I remember the story of their dating story correctly, Jackie made the first moves.  Third, they are a really incredible people that have a easy going partnership filled with the right amount of sarcastic teasing and heaps of love. The icing on the cake is that Rick clearly loves Jackie’s son almost most as much as does.  They are an incredibly dynamic duo, full of sass, energy and a love of whiskey that I can appreciate.  Jackie basically hired me based off of instagram captions that I wrote while drunk so, clearly we were a good match.

When she told me that she was having an intimate backyard wedding I swooned.  When she told me that it was going to be a Black Bear Lodge wedding I leaped with joy.  I’ve been desperate to work at the Black Bear Lodge ever since Greg and Rachel took it over.  Not only are they RIDICULOUSLY nice people (much nicer than the likes of me), but they’ve done an amazing job with this quaint cozy wooded boutique hotel.  The lawn is perfect for backyard ceremonies and your entire wedding party can stay on site.  In the summer, I do yoga on the lawn with my friend Jenay of Lake Tahoe Yoga and in the winter, I while away happy hours at their wine tastings in the lodge living room.

Jackie assembled a killer team of bad-asses, helmed by Karie at She Said Yes Weddings, who I’ve worked with many times before and adore.  Karie is always efficient, calm, super fun, on the dance floor, and never even remotely harrasses me about whether or not I’ll be on time because she seems to trust that I’m always going to be early. This type 8 appreciates that more than words can describe.

Jackie and Rick, thanks for sharing your day with me. I cannot express how happy I was to end my wedding season with the two of you and your incredible friends.
