Palisades Tahoe Event Photographer for Soccer Shots HQ Annual Convention
Soccer Shots is an engaging youth soccer program for children between the ages of 2 and 8. Their message is powerful: to engage children in a fun way with age appropriate play that introduces them to fundamental soccer principles in a safe environment. They are in 200 different cities in North America, including Canada, and they are serious about training their coaches and staff to the highest level to offer an incredible level of service no matter where the location. They are a franchise based brand and their annual franchise owners convention and meeting was held this year at Palisades Tahoe (formerly Squaw Valley) in the Olympic Valley, just outside Truckee, CA. They needed a Palisades Tahoe event photographer to capture all the action of their brand and event. With two high profile keynote speakers they wanted to make sure they had quality images of the event to share for future conferences and events.
Day 1 featured Galen Emanuele with Shift Yes! Galen used to be part of the improv team on Whose Line is It Anywhere Fame and his keynote address was as interactive as you would expect from a former improv participant. If you know anything about improv, you’ll get the Shift Yes reference. Day 2 of the Squaw Valley event featured Meridith Elliott Powell, a business motivational speaker who gave an incredibly inspiring speech on the power of preparing for uncertainty as a way to turn it into your competitive advantage.
Complete with a High Camp night of games, a round robin soccer tournament, and plenty of other activities, I was thrilled to be hired as their Palisades Tahoe event photographer and wowed by the incredible company and their mission. It’s always a bonus to work with companies that I find inspiration in and, like many of the events I photograph, I learned a few things also!
