Tahoe Portraits with Dogs

Tahoe Portraits with Dogs | Georgette + Jersey

My friend Georgette is from, you guessed it, New Jersey, so it’s only appropriate that her dog’s namesake be of her homeplace. This coming from the lady whose current dog is named Austin and former dog was named Sierra.  I have a thing for geographical names.

Georgette wanted a quick portrait session so that for once in her life she could send out a Christmas card and by golly, I am jealous right about now because I also would like to send out a Christmas card but it’s awfully hard to get a portrait session done when you are a photographer coming off an insanely busy wedding filled fall!

We headed to one of Jersey’s most favorite walk locations, Trout Creek Meadow, for their session and the light was absolutely stunning!

Tahoe Family Portrait Photographer | The Kucma Family

When I asked Lauren how she found me for her family portrait session she said she had googled something and then know I must be awesome since my name is Lauren, which is fabulous.  I forgot to ask her if she was also named after Lauren Bacall, which is my namesake.  I joke with people that it’s a good thing I wasn’t a boy or my mother would have named me Humphrey.

Lauren and her husband had an important person in their life who “doesn’t use the internet” that needs a photo for Christmas and I was more than thrilled to meet them at Sugar Pine Point State Park for a mini portrait session.   It was a perfect location and we caught the light at the perfect time.  Hopefully Grandma loves her photo as much as I do.

Trash the Dress

Tahoe Trash the Dress Session | Sawyer and Josh

Sawyer and her husband Josh are two of the most gorgeous people I’ve ever met.  Sawyer is stunningly beautiful, bubbly and effervescent and oh so sweet.  Josh is clearly smitten with his beautiful wife (who wouldn’t be!) and was completely game to play along with her idea to celebrate their one year wedding anniversary with a very bohemian Trash the Dress Session.  His one request was to incorporate his love of fishing.

I was worried that if I put Sawyer in Lake Tahoe she’d be freezing so I decided that Fallen Leaf Lake was the perfect location for an early morning portrait session.  It was absolutely perfect.  We giggled and laughed and tromped around in the water, which was thankfully a quite moderate temperature, to capture this set of stunning images.

I feel so luck to have met the two of them.  I had a BLAST that day.  I hope that they are as happy with the images as I am.

Congratulations to a beautiful couple on their anniversary.  Thanks for sharing it with me Sawyer and Josh!
