Have you ever seen anything more adorable?
Seriously. This couple is so cute, so fun, so easy going and to make matters even better they had the BEST FRIENDS. I want to keep them all for myself.

You know you look really good when you get reactions like that. Alicia was stunningly beautiful. When she said she wanted retro vintage waves in her hair, I knew exactly who to send her to: my girl Katie at Tahoe Salon Be styled her out and after their small, intimate Lakeside Beach Wedding, Matt and Alicia and I headed over to Rabe Meadows in Stateline for a quick portrait session. There’s more to come from this rad couple, but in the meantime…
I feel super lucky to have been connected to Monique and Adam through mutual friends. Frankly, I’m shocked that I hadn’t met these two rad souls before. They are gorgous, giving people full of light, love and clear adoration for each other and their young son, who is ridiculously adorable. They met with me at the suggestion of some mutual friends over lunch and immediately signed a contract that minute. I actually ended up ending a Costa Rica vacation early and flying home to photograph their Meyers, CA Tahoe ranch wedding at the Celio Ranch, a private historic estate in South Lake Tahoe and I’m so thankful I did. It kicked off a summer of ridiculously awesome outdoor backyard and ranch weddings and I loved every bit of it. Their friends and family were a joy to be around, they had a fantastic bluegrass band (local favorites Worn Out Welcome), and unbelievably delicious Indian food catered by good friends. Mo was super worried that it was going to rain on her wedding day – the skies the days before (and in the weeks after) were to be threatening frequent downpours – but thankfully, the rain held off and they were treated to a gorgeous celebration under beautiful blue Tahoe skies.
Mo and Adam, congrats you two. I can’t wait to dance the night away at another show with you!

When Rick and Lisa first contacted me, they didn’t actually have a date for their wedding. She sent me a really amazing email that said, among other things, “I really do think avocados are their own food group, and I can eat my weight in avocados on any given day.” Over the course of our correspondence, I fell in love with her adventurous spirit, vivacity and general good humor. When they finally picked their date, it turned out to be a day that I had no intent of shooting a wedding on: the day following my birthday party. I couldn’t, just couldn’t, not be part of this amazing couple who seemed like such kindrid spirits to me. Among their love of avocados, day drinking and laughing at themselves, they were also marathon runners. I said yes. I would sacrifice the ability to be “not so sparky” the day after my party for these two awesome people and I am SO glad that I did. There’s more to come from their Heavenly Terrace Wedding, but until then, here’s a few awesome frames to hold you over.
Apparently clients who enjoy day drinking are a theme this week because that’s exactly why Cristie, Ben and I get along so splendidly. They wanted their wedding to be “FUN” they told me over margaritas at Azul Latin Kitchen. I have to admit, their wedding was more than fun and it had everything to do with the wonderful smiling campy spirits that these two are filled with. I know their life is going to be filled with many adventures and I promise to tell you more about my day as their Heavenly wedding photographer…. as soon as the photos are edited.
Until then, here’s a few frames to hold you over.
More than 2 years ago, Sunny and Chris were wed while overlooking the expansiveness of Lake Tahoe in Emerald Bay. This week, their intimate lakeside Tahoe elopement was published online by Bridal Beauty Magazine. It’s some kind of wonderful to relive amazing couples and their wedding days years later – a nice reminder of shared laughs (of which there were plenty) and sweet moments. An intimate smattering of family and friends.
And a meadow.
Sweet. Intimate. Simple.
Here’s a sneak peek from LeeAnn and Neil’s stunning Hope Valley Wedding.
I thought that Amanda and Steve were my last wedding of 2014. The gorgeous couple were wed at a small ceremony at Tahoe Lakefront Weddings. After the ceremony, they hired me to do family, wedding party and couple portraits and then hang for a bit of the Stateline Brewery wedding reception. It’s amazing when everything comes together perfectly: the location, the light, the couple. Originally, we had planned to go galavanting with the wedding party in the Upper Truckee Marsh, followed by some forest portraits in Van Sickle Bi-State Park. The light was so golden and gorgeous in the meadow, however, that we couldn’t bare to leave the stunning location.
It was the first time I had photographed a wedding reception at the Stateline Brewery. Amanda and Steve’s DIY fall decor was perfect their private wedding reception space. Awash in rich, golden fall colors, their intimate budget wedding fit their personalities and the season perfectly. It was rounded out with delicious food, some genuine toasts, and a keg, of course!
It’s amazing when everything comes together perfectly: the location, the light, the couple. It’s even more special when it all comes together for your very last wedding of 2014.
Amanda and Steve were wed in a small ceremony at Tahoe Lakefront Weddings. After their ceremony, we went galavanting with their wedding party in the Upper Truckee Marsh. The light was so perfect and stunning, we scrapped our plans to also take photos at Vansickle State Park and just spent the whole hour playing in gorgeous golden backlight of the meadow.
Amanda and Steve, congrats on your Destination Tahoe Wedding.
Here’s one stunning image from my 32nd wedding of 2014. You’ll just have to wait for the rest.
I’m still SO enamored with Melissa’s gorgeous turquoise wedding dress from New Orleans retro boutique Trashy Diva. The Pretty Pear Bride was just as enamored with it and featured their small intimate Eagle’s Nest Wedding on the blog last Thursday.
