This was my first time shooting as an Oahu wedding photographer, and it delivered: rainstorm and all. A private estate elopement, a weather curveball, and the kind of small wedding that reminds you why intimate beats overwhelming every time. We pushed the ceremony back an hour without stress, without chaos, and still got everything the couple dreamed of. You can’t do that with 120 guests and a strict timeline. Small weddings give you the freedom to breathe and adapt on the fly without missing a beat or a laugh.

Sometimes there is a rare instance when wedding photographers must replace themselves for a wedding due to unforeseen circumstances. Spoiler alert: I was the replacement, not the one who needed one. My first wedding of 2024 was one where I stepped in for a near and dear friend and it was an absolute dream - from the venue to the couple to the dance party to the guest list.
