My Experience
I have been photographing live music for more than a decade, working with festivals, venues, and brands to document performances in a way that highlights both the artists and the fans. Some of the events I have covered include Bluesapalooza in Mammoth Lakes, SXSW, and Stone Family Field Trip in Spokane, WA. It should go without saying that SXSW, at one point, was one of the most important showcases for emerging and established artists in the world. Covering SXSW means working quickly across multiple venues, stages, and lighting conditions. I thrive in that fast paced environment, delivering images that can be used immediately for press, social media, and promotion.
I have been photographing Stone Family Field Trip since it’s inception as a public music festival. This family friendly festival combines music, community, and creativity. My work here has focused not only on the performers but also on the immersive atmosphere, the attendees, the VIP activities with Allen Stone, and the storytelling details that give the event its character.
