To this day, I have remembered Bogota, and Colombia in general, to be my absolute favorite travel destination. The primary reason for this is the simple fact that the people are so incredibly warm and generous. They are so proud of where they have come and eager to show of their culture. Each city in Colombia has its own personality (I would liken Bogota to New York City: a bit darker and a bit more cosmopolitan). The city offers a unique blend of modern and traditional culture, making it a melting pot of diversity. From exploring the historic district of La Candelaria with its colonial architecture to the modern culinary scene, there is something for everyone in Bogota.
