Jessica and Jason were dreaming of an elegant, black tie formal affair with a rager of a dance party for their Edgewood Tahoe Golf Resort wedding. Their wedding party was massive (22 people y’all!), but after spending the day with the amazing people they surround themselves with, I can say with certainty that every single person who stood up there next to them deserved to be there. Their friends were incredibly smart, worldly, and engaging.  Some of them were cops in the force alongside Jason. Some of them live in Europe and Africa. Some of them were teachers. All of them were phenomenal humans that kept me laughing and entertained all afternoon. They are adventurous wild fun spirits that aren’t’ afraid to be themselves and shine all the more brightly for it.

They also taught me a lesson – new addition to my pre-wedding questionaire to include, “would your friends refer to you and your family as notoriously late?”  Despite the delays in our afternoon, which are normally don’t cause me to skip a beat but are a little more nerve wracking when there is a 22 person wedding party, we pulled the afternoon off perfectly, managed portraits of all of them AND a first look (with me getting in only one fight with a stranger – don’t ask – but I will say he “fancied” himself to be a “professional photographer” also), tore up the dance floor, and even snuck a few karaoke’d ballads into the course of the night.

Jess and Jason met years ago in Tahoe at Cabo Wabo and his family has a vacation home here, extremely close to my own home.  Lake Tahoe holds a very special place in their heart (as does Cabo Wabo, though it’s now turned into El Jefe Cantina), and to honor that meet-cute they took the afterparty across the street and kept it going until the wee hours of the morning.  The rentals from Creative Coverings were out of this world elegant and classy.  The mother-son duo that was their entertainment was a delight to work alongside. Overall, Jess and Jason’s wedding and the people around them were an 11/10 in my book.

Venues at Edgewood Tahoe Resort
  • The rustic space of Edgewood Tahoe Golf Resort offers unbeatable views of Tahoe’s mountains and the lake for events and weddings of all sizes.  The larger of the two venues for your Edgewood Tahoe Golf resort wedding is the North Room, which includes the North Lawn for your ceremony space and the North Room deck for your cocktail hour.  This is the venue that I photograph Lake Tahoe weddings at most frequently when working at an Edgewood Tahoe Golf resort wedding.
  • The South Room, South Lawn and South Deck are slightly smaller for groups that are more modest in size.  This is the perfect venue for a more intimate wedding or a brunch wedding.
