Thunderbird Lodge Wedding | Laura + Ryan

By |February 15th, 2021|wedding|

Thunderbird Lodge is an incredibly special place: it's located on the north east side of Lake Tahoe, near Incline Village. It’s one of the oldest estates on the lake and the original owner was eccentric, to put it mildly.  The estate is one of a kind, both in story and physical presence.  It's one of my favorite places on Lake Tahoe to photograph weddings and I'm overjoyed to revisit this gorgeous and classic Thunderbird Lodge wedding from 2018.

Carpinteria Beach Micro Wedding

By |January 11th, 2021|Beach, Elopement, Proposal, wedding|

Like many couples, Sam and Bree faced challenges when planning and de-planning their wedding in 2020. Instead of postponing or cancelling, they decided that they would have an intimate ceremony for just immediate family, officiated by their best friend at their beach that has been in their family for generations.  Their Carpinteria Beach micro wedding was relaxed, simple, and full of laughter and plenty of IPAs.

Gastler Farm Wedding | Durham, CT | Monika + Mike |

By |December 14th, 2020|wedding|

While I know that their Gastler Farm wedding wasn't exactly what Mike and Monika had planned, and that not everyone they loved were able to be there, it was perfectly wonderful and absolutely picturesque in the greatest of ways and I'm so thrilled to have been a part of it. I have been a part of this family for 6 years now and I'm never going to let them get rid of me.

How to Attract Your Ideal Photography Clients

By |October 12th, 2020|Commercial Photography, Photography, Tips, Tips for Creatives, wedding|

I'm a photographer who promises to cuss only three times in front of your grandma, will throw back tequila shots with you at the end of the night on your dance floor, sends koozies to all my clients, and isn't afraid to tell your Aunt Myra no. My ideal client is adventurous and laid back. They are backyard BBQ-ing whiskey drinking partiers that just want to celebrate their day with the people they love most.  They value classic photography and those are 100% the kind of people I attract most often. How do YOU attract your ideal photography clients? Don't worry - this bitch is here to help.

By |September 21st, 2020|Tahoe, wedding|

Mariela and Andrew had a dual location wedding: a ceremony and cocktail hour at The Landing Resort and Spa on their rooftop wedding deck, followed by a reception, dinner, and dancing at the absolutely incredible Tahoe River House Retreat in Meyers, CA, one of the ONLY private estates in South Lake Tahoe that allows for weddings and events.  With plenty of parking and no neighbors, this VHR is the perfect spot for a South Lake Tahoe private backyard wedding, complete with a teepee!  If you are looking for a private estate that will allow for events and weddings of up to 100 guests, the Tahoe River House Retreat is the perfect location!

Tahoe City Backyard Wedding | Molly + Chris

By |August 31st, 2020|wedding|

Molly and Chris were originally going to hold a large destination wedding at Granlibakken in Tahoe City.  It's a charming event center and retreat with endless outdoor space that backs up to the Tahoe forest.  It's a great spot for a wedding because all your friends and family can stay on site and there's plenty of space.  When COVID changed their plans, Molly and Chris pivoted quickly to something that seemed all too perfect for them: a small, intimate Tahoe City backyard wedding at the cabin that has been in their family for generations.

Missouri Backyard Wedding | Washington and Louisiana, MO | Austin + Melissa

By |August 17th, 2020|wedding|

Melissa and Austin had planned their wedding at the Chart House in Lake Tahoe and modelled it, or, in Melissa's self professed words "copied" it from Ashley and Tim, down to the dancefloor.  They even stole their photographer (me!) and are claiming to keep me as a friend forever. When their destination wedding was cancelled due to the pandemic, Melissa said she was "expecting some shit to hit the fan but man oh man this went above and beyond!!!!" When Melissa and Austin came up with a new plan, it was completely and totally reflective of their personality, which Melissa said has "always been a wild ride" and I was fortunate enough to have the ability to make it to Missouri to capture their revised wedding day.

With SO many of my clients faced with the tough decisions to cancel, postpone or downsize their weddings, many have decided to go this route: just get married and I am 100% here for it.  Like so many of my clients, Kierney and Will are still planning on partying later (now in their renovated and redone backyard, thanks to COVID house projects), but they were overjoyed to just go ahead and solidify their union in the most Tahoe-esque way possible.
