When Kierney and Will originally planned their wedding, it was going to be a completely relaxed BBQ beach adventure.  They wanted games and good times, socializing and tequila.  As COVID hit, it became increasingly clear that their wedding dreams were going to be dashed and they completely changed course: calling me out of the blue and deciding to elope at the county clerk’s office.  It was the perfect afternoon, in my opinion: beers, bikes, and beach champagne.

Eventually, they really wanted to hold a celebration and vow renewal in front of their nearest and dearest.  When their original wedding venue, Nevada Beach Pavilion was forced to cancel due to the pandemic, they changed their course again and decided to take on a COVID project.  Renovating their backyard into the perfect outdoor space, they decided to hold a private and intimate Tahoe backyard micro wedding to celebrate their elopement.  They did an INCREDIBLE job.

It was everything they had hoped for: amazing food from Blend Catering, a romp in the meadow by their house for the first look, lawn games and tequila.  A Tahoe backyard micro wedding might have not been their original plan, but I think it was a fantastic way to celebrate their union and now everytime they enjoy their new lawn, they’re going to have great feelings about what they accomplished together and where they celebrated.  If you’re in the position of having to downsize your wedding, I assure you it can be done without downsizing your expectations and Kierney and Will are a prime example of that!
