By |February 6th, 2023|Austin, Commercial Photography, Event Photos, SXSW, texas, Tips, Tips for Creatives|

SXSW shouldn't need an introduction, but just in case you don't know me very well (or Austin), here's the short of it: SXSW is a ridiculously large ridiculously amazing festival held annually in Austin, Texas that attracts over 400,000 attendees from across the world. Its focus is large, wide, and all-encompassing, including but not limited to, innovation, technology, music, film, health, gaming, and more.  If SXSW 2023 is your first rodeo and you're planning an activation, event, or happy hour to engage and interact with your target audience, I'm here to give you a little bit of advice from a photographer's perspective, regardless of the size of your event.

Texas Concert Photographer | Allen Stone’s Karaoke Extravaganza

By |November 14th, 2022|Austin, Commercial Photography, Event Photos, texas|

Allen Stone is no stranger to wacky ideas. Back in 2019, Al and his best friend Julian Gavilanes embarked on a karaoke tour of the United States. This year, they decided to bring it back, bigger and better than ever - a multi-state tour, a full crew, with a polished story, and 100x the fun and hijinks. It was a blend of an acoustic concert, with Allen performing intimate renditions of beloved songs, as well as new material, along with pre-show VIP meet and greets, an audience participation segment (that's the karaoke y'all), games, more than one or two surprises a night, and more! Photos and more from Allen Stone's Texas stops on his 2022 Karaoke Extravaganza.

Virginia City Event Photographer | Virginia City Camel Races

By |September 26th, 2022|Commercial Photography, Event Photos, Nevada|

Ready to get a little wild and wacky? The Reno Tahoe area offers a wide variety of fun for the entire family with year round events that are incredibly entertaining, family oriented, and, in the case of the Virginia City Camel Races, a little bit weird.  From Genoa's Candy Dance, to Carson Valley Days, to the Reno Balloon Races, Reno has something for everyone in your family.  When wildfire season hit Lake Tahoe with surprise this fall, we ventured down to the clean air in Virginia City to check out the Virginia City Camel Races for the first time.  I brought my camera because I was feeling a little bit creative that day and as a Virginia City Event Photographer, I'm always looking for fun and inspiring Reno Tahoe events to photograph.

Why you should hire a photographer for your corporate retreat

As a corporate retreat and event professional photographer, I’ve captured both small business openings, concerts, and conferences with thousands of attendees. Most clients seek out professional photography for these events because they’ve seen the quality and versatility of the in-the-moment photos and have used the photos to grow their businesses, promote future events, and engage with their clients. Here are a number of reasons you should hire a professional photographer for your corporate retreat.

Palisades Tahoe Event Photographer | Soccer Shots

By |July 26th, 2022|California, Commercial Photography, Event Photos, Marketing, Photography|

Soccer Shots is an engaging youth soccer program for children between the ages of 2 and 8. Their message is powerful: to engage children in a fun way with age appropriate play that introduces them to fundamental soccer principles in a safe environment.  They are in 200 different cities in North America, including Canada, and they are serious about training their coaches and staff to the highest level to offer an incredible level of service no matter where the location. They are a franchise based brand and their annual franchise owners convention and meeting was held this year at Palisades Tahoe (formerly Squaw Valley) in the Olympic Valley, just outside Truckee, CA. With two high profile keynote speakers they wanted to make sure they had quality images of the event to share for future conferences and events.

Ritz Carlton Tahoe Event Photographer | Social Society + Hennessey

By |April 11th, 2022|Commercial Photography, Event Photos|

Founders of the Social Society OC are two badass females - Tamara Trainer and Emily Provansal - who met almost 10 years ago working together for a fashion brand. Throughout the pandemic they worked hard to pivot their covid-19 affected events business back into offering additional services that included social media strategy and marketing, influencer campaigns, content creation and more and I was honored to be hired by a female led company to capture a recent luxury installation at the Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe.

By |February 21st, 2022|Commercial Photography, Event Photos, SXSW, texas|

If you’re new to SXSW, you’re in for one of the most unique experiences of your life. This year, SXSW (pronounced South by Southwest or just “South By”) is March 11-20 in Austin, TX. That’s 10 jam-packed days of music, comedy, film, conference sessions, and networking. I know, it’s a lot. But here’s how you can make the most of it (coming from someone who’s attended as an Austin event photographer almost 10 times).

Allen Stone’s Allen-Tines Day Special

By |February 8th, 2021|Commercial Photography, Event Photos, movies, music|

It's been a weird ride since Covid started, we all know it, but January was particularly hard on me as I grappled with the realization that for the third year in a row, running my business is going to be a significant challenge and that I am unlikely to have enough work to sustain me. Thankfully, I had the fantastic opportunity and freedom to head up to Spokane to work on Allen Stone's Allen-Tines Day Special. Having something to do for a week, a reason to get out of bed each day, and a group of hard working people around me was so creatively fulfilling. The energy of being on set with a bunch of hilarious, creative musicians with a wacky vision and a crazy idea was so rewarding. Allen-Tines Day Special features Allen Stone, Teddy Swims, Julian Gavilanes and Tom Cantillon as the pop sensations Round’N 3rd, who reunite decades after they broke the band up. They will sing 90’s R&B magic like ‘U Got It Bad’ by Usher, ‘ Back At One’ by Brian Mcknight and many more and I can say with certainty - this shit is lit. Read more about my experience working with this talented group of musicians and behind the scenes photos here!
