Nestldown Wedding Photographer | Lizzy + James

By |May 2nd, 2022|wedding|

Tucked into the redwood forest at the top of the mountains straddling Santa Cruz and Los Gatos, Nestldown is nothing short of a fairy tale wedding venue. From the minute we drove onto the property, my friend and associate Lisa and I were astounded by everything this incredible property has to offer. It is lush, green and the week we were there, covered in gardens that were fully in bloom with vibrant bright colors of every kind. It was so incredibly picturesque I was basically losing my shit at every corner with all the options of unbelievable photo locations.

At this point in my career as a photographer, I’ve photographed just about every style of weddings there is: elopements, micro weddings, 300+ guest weddings, private weddings, and spontaneous weddings. Whether you have zero or 200 guests at your wedding, it’s possible to have a relaxed day. Don’t @ me—I’m totally serious. In my experience, there are a few common threads to the most relaxed wedding days. It’s possible for your day to flow smoothly if you follow these three tips.

Sterling Hotel Wedding Photographer | Emily + Justin

By |March 14th, 2022|Elopement, wedding|

Emily and Justin's elopement was all sorts of charming and had plenty of their quirky dry humor infused into it. When Covid altered their plans for an intimate wedding in Tahoe, they finally settled on the Wedgewood Sterling Hotel. The neighborhood surrounding the Sterling Hotel in Downtown Sacramento has tons of great options for portraits within walking distance!

Georgetown Milestone Wedding | Tashara + Alvan

By |February 14th, 2022|texas, wedding|

A Georgetown Milestone wedding is a perfect Central Texas wedding. Perched above the San Gabriel River just outside of Austin, TX, this is an absolutely stunning venue and a modern, bright and airy farmhouse. Tashara and Alvin utilized the venue to the best of their abilities with a full family affair: there were children underfoot at any moment, aunts and uncles pitched in at every opportunity, and their guests were as colorful, vibrant and beautiful as they are.

How to prioritize what photos are important to you on your wedding day

By |January 10th, 2022|Tips, wedding, Wedding Planning|

I’m glad we found each other to be a good fit for your wedding day. Seriously, nothing brings me more joy than being on the same wavelength as my clients. After we’ve met, covered the basics and some logistics, we need to talk expectations about day-of photos. This is something you’ll want to take time to think about and discuss with your partner (and family, if they’re involved). For example, everyone has different expectations about first looks. Let’s make sure we’re clear on these with plenty of time to spare so your day can be worry-free. Here are my general recommendations (based on many years of experience in the wedding photography industry) on how to prioritize what photos are important to you on your wedding day.

Hideout Wedding | Kirkwood, CA | Nicole + David

By |January 3rd, 2022|wedding|

There's something so magical and incredibly unusual about living in a town where it's sometimes snows so much that two cars cannot drive down one road at the same time. When the snow banks that are taller than your car it feels both eerie and thrilling. When the street lights shine on new snow while you're driving down a quiet dark nighttime road, you get straight up fucking giddy because you know what it's like to jump off of a cliff into powder and whether you landed or not, it's still an exhilarating experience. This may seem like a strange way to start out a wedding blog, but I know that Nicole and David completely understand THIS feeling acutely. It's a passion for exploration and adventure and the shared experience that Tahoe provides.

Edgewood Tahoe Wedding | Amanda + Luke

By |December 6th, 2021|wedding|

Sometimes I get things REALLY wrong and Luke and Amanda's Edgewood Tahoe wedding was one of these things.  I had a preconceived expectation for their event: I didn't think it was going to be very rowdy, I didn't expect them to be big partiers AT ALL, and over all I just sort of expected this quiet very subdued fancy pants Edgewood wedding. BOY WAS I WRONG. Read all about it the big surprise of the night here!

Plumpjack Inn Wedding | Sonni + Forest | Olympic Valley, CA

By |November 22nd, 2021|wedding|

There was dancing and there was singing. And then there was more dancing and then there was more singing. And ultimately, there was dancing and singing all over the place at an absolutely hilarious and epic Plumpjack Inn Wedding. The only thing we could have used less of: ..... wind. Did you think I was going to say "dancing and singing"?? NEVER. There's never too much of that!
