Idle Hour Wedding | Lake Tahoe, CA | Greg + Daphne

By |April 17th, 2023|Tahoe, wedding|

First thing you need to know about these Greg and Daphne: they are bold and adventurous. Daphne wanted nothing but snow on her wedding day and snow she got. In fact, what they got was an absolute downright blizzard. I'm not sure why they bothered to do their hair, but it felt right so they went with it. Daphne and Greg are very clearly surrounded by people who love them very much because every guest accommodated their wacky winter Idle Hour wedding with few complaints. I can assure you though, everyone had very cold hands.

Tahoe Ski Photographer | Palisades Tahoe

By |March 13th, 2023|Adventure Photography, Event Photos, Family Portrait, Photography, skiing, snowboarding, Tahoe, work|

Do you love skiing? Do you have a winter birthday? If so, throwing a retro ski birthday party like my clients Kirsten and Micah did last month maybe the perfect way to celebrate. Whether you are an avid skier, a beginner, love costume parties, or simply enjoy the nostalgic charm of retro ski culture and a good reason to order a bottle or 9 of champagne and fondue, there are plenty of reasons that not only should you throw a retro ski party, but you should hire a professional Tahoe ski photographer to capture it. More from Kirsten's Retro 50th Ski Birthday Party and why you should consider professional photos of you and your friends or family skiing here!

Camp Galilee Summer Camp Wedding | Rachael + Garrett

By |November 7th, 2022|camping, Tahoe, wedding|

A summer camp wedding is the perfect destination wedding for the client who wants a relaxed, but all encompassed vacation weekend for their celebration. A relaxing destination wedding at an established summer camp like Camp Galilee allows everyone to enjoy an extended amount of time socializing, but in a more budget friendly way and, better yet, all on the same property. For Rachael and Garrett, who both previously worked at Camp Galilee, it was the perfect location because it is a place near and dear to both their hearts.

Tahoe South of North Brewing Wedding | Matt + Patrice

By |September 12th, 2022|Death, Tahoe, wedding|

Matt and Patrice have been together for all of their adult lives. They never originally intended to marry, feeling together wholly outside of convention and societal norms. Patrice's late mother, however, wanted nothing more than to see them commit their lives together in the bond of marriage and when she was diagnosed with an aggressive terminal illness, Matt and Patrice planned a wedding. Patrice's mother never saw her marry - she passed on the day of their original elopement during the year of Covid lockdowns. They made a pledge that they would celebrate surrounded by the people they love and one year later, Matt and Patrice renewed their vows in the best way they knew how - with a grand party in Lake Tahoe with a Tahoe South of North Brewing Wedding, absolutely surrounded by all their friends and family.  More from their Basecamp Hotel destination wedding in South Lake Tahoe is up on my blog today.

Lake Tahoe Boat Elopement | Julieanne + Mark

By |November 30th, 2020|Elopement, Tahoe|

Since Julieanne and Mark had originally wanted to get married on a boat, they decided that if they were going to elope, it should absolutely also be on a boat! Julieanne and Mark were married as the sun was setting behind the ridge in Emerald Bay, on the shores of Vikingsholm Castle in an intimate Lake Tahoe boat elopement thanks to Lake Tahoe Boat Rides. Captain Steve and I worked together to create a great experience for the couple and we nailed the timing and the light!

Tahoe River House Retreat Wedding | Mariela + Andrew

By |September 21st, 2020|Tahoe, wedding|

Mariela and Andrew had a dual location wedding: a ceremony and cocktail hour at The Landing Resort and Spa on their rooftop wedding deck, followed by a reception, dinner, and dancing at the absolutely incredible Tahoe River House Retreat in Meyers, CA, one of the ONLY private estates in South Lake Tahoe that allows for weddings and events.  With plenty of parking and no neighbors, this VHR is the perfect spot for a South Lake Tahoe private backyard wedding, complete with a teepee!  If you are looking for a private estate that will allow for events and weddings of up to 100 guests, the Tahoe River House Retreat is the perfect location!

Heavenly LGBT+ Wedding | South Lake Tahoe, CA | Beth + Sally

By |June 22nd, 2020|LGBT, Tahoe, wedding|

It was an intimate day that was almost completely DIY.  Beth and Sally bucked tradition and did many things that I find standard in LGBT+ weddings, like getting ready together and processing together down the aisle.  It was representative of both of them and their time together - they designed their own gifts, artwork, invites and florals. Follow this link to read more about Beth and Sally's intimate Heavenly LGBT+ wedding. We're celebrating Pride all month long with LGBT+ weddings and resources!!

Backyard LGBT+ Wedding | Tahoma, CA | Lisa + Hanna

By |June 8th, 2020|LGBT, Tahoe, wedding|

I LOVE backyard weddings.  I love the simplicity.  I love the camaraderie.  I love the uniqueness.  I love that people make it their own.  I love that there are usually long tables with family style dining and open seating plans.  I love dancing under twinkle lights and stars.  I love the lawn games and less formal attire and summery cocktails. I also love Pride month so what better way to celebrate it than with a month of LGBT+ wedding posts and related resources!
