Before choosing a Lake Tahoe wedding venue, it’s important to consider what you want your photos to look like, or, in other words, how you want the lake to appear in your photos. Depending on the venue location and time of day, our majestic body of water serves as a giant mirror (eek), so you’ll want to keep these tips in mind before booking your venue and selecting your ceremony time. Never fear, though, your trusty neighborhood photographer is here to help.

Nestldown Wedding Photographer | Lizzy + James

By |May 2nd, 2022|wedding|

Tucked into the redwood forest at the top of the mountains straddling Santa Cruz and Los Gatos, Nestldown is nothing short of a fairy tale wedding venue. From the minute we drove onto the property, my friend and associate Lisa and I were astounded by everything this incredible property has to offer. It is lush, green and the week we were there, covered in gardens that were fully in bloom with vibrant bright colors of every kind. It was so incredibly picturesque I was basically losing my shit at every corner with all the options of unbelievable photo locations.

Founders of the Social Society OC are two badass females - Tamara Trainer and Emily Provansal - who met almost 10 years ago working together for a fashion brand. Throughout the pandemic they worked hard to pivot their covid-19 affected events business back into offering additional services that included social media strategy and marketing, influencer campaigns, content creation and more and I was honored to be hired by a female led company to capture a recent luxury installation at the Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe.

Pearson-Arastradero Preserve Engagement Session

By |March 28th, 2022|California, Engagement, Portrait|

Although the south Bay Area offers many amazing locations for engagement sessions and family portraits, one stellar spot that I love is Pearson-Arastradero Preserve in Palo Alto. Depending on the time of year, a Pearson-Arastradero Preserve engagement session can offer you fields as far as the eye can see of beautiful swaying dead grasses or, if you are there in the winter as we were, rolling lush hills of green. The golden sunset light at Palo Alto's open preserve offers an abundance of opportunity for beautiful images and I was in heaven exploring for Lizzy and James' South Bay engagement session.

Sterling Hotel Wedding Photographer | Emily + Justin

By |March 14th, 2022|Elopement, wedding|

Emily and Justin's elopement was all sorts of charming and had plenty of their quirky dry humor infused into it. When Covid altered their plans for an intimate wedding in Tahoe, they finally settled on the Wedgewood Sterling Hotel. The neighborhood surrounding the Sterling Hotel in Downtown Sacramento has tons of great options for portraits within walking distance!
