If you’re going to go through the trouble of hiring a photographer for the proposal, you need to put some effort into planning it—no worries, though, I’ve got your back! Here’s how to plan a picture perfect proposal in five, easy steps.
Sugar Bowl Wedding | Truckee, CA | Whit + Steve
When Whit and Steve's Sugar Bowl wedding was postponed by COVID they were hardly deterred. They planned a postponed event and they knew exactly what they wanted: a gorgeous laid back setting where all their friends could stay on site, a RAGINGLY epic dance party, an open bar and tons of laughter and great food. Their Sugar Bowl Resort wedding was everything they wanted and more.
Martis Camp Elopement | Jenny + Tom
A lot of mountains had to be moved for Jenny and Tom's Covid affected Martis Camp elopement slash micro-wedding to happen. The largest of which was that Tom's parents live in Israel and were worried about being able to attend at all, despite the fact that the were both vaccinated last December. Tom's father spent the entirety of his pandemic life training to ride his bicycle around Lake Tahoe. More from Jenny and Tom's micro-wedding/elopement here!
Summer wedding treats and favors that steal the show
Having a memorable wedding isn’t just about the open bar and the ridiculous dance moves your uncle pulled out on the dance floor. It’s about the intentional, small details that make it uniquely yours. Some couples choose to bring touches of home to their day or to include their fur babies, and some (those of us with a sweet tooth), like to go all out on treats for our guests. Here are this summer’s steal-the-show wedding treats and favors!
Haue Valley Wedding | St Louis, MO | Sam + Patrick
I've now photographed two (YES! TWO!) full and large post pandemic weddings in all their glory: Anna and Harrison's amazing second line filled New Orleans wedding, and Whitney and Steve's Sugar Bowl wedding, which will be coming to this blog VERY soon. Until then, I have an amazing wedding to share that somehow never made it to the blog. Sam and Patrick recently celebrated their second wedding anniversary on May the 4th so that seems like a perfectly good reason to finally share images from their Haue Valley Wedding in St. Louis, MO. Sam grew up in St. Louis and her father was actually one of my former co-workers at Pearl Izumi, which made this wedding all the more special. More from their spring wedding in the Missouri countryside here!
Elms Mansion Wedding | New Orleans | Anna + Harrison
New Orleans is a special kind of home to me. It's about family, and revelry, and fun. The spirit that surrounds me there is a dangerous one: I always joke I could never live there full time because I'd just get fat and happy. New Orleans is about love and joy, porch sipping, potlucks, music, and second lines. Anna and Harrison's Elms Mansion wedding was every bit of all of these things, with a LOT of rain thrown in. Who Dat!

Las Vegas Elopement Photographer | Kerry + Patrick
Throughout their years dating, Kerry and Patrick spoke many times about traveling to Vegas together and everytime it came up, Kerry always joked, “don’t take me to Vegas unless you plan on coming home married!” And then one day, they went to Vegas and and came home married. Why you should hire a birth photographer
Labor and delivery can be hectic but also overwhelmingly beautiful, and often, forgettable. It can be hard to give someone the responsibility of capturing the moment when they actually have to be present in it and that's why considering having a professional photographer on site shouldn't be considered egregious. Here are a few reasons why you should hire a birth photographer.
Sedona Elopement | Jacquie and Doug
What started out as an micro wedding with a family style dinner under the stars in Bend, OR changed plans and iterations and dates quite a few times before it morphed into the absolutely perfect intimate Sedona elopement that it was, bringing no less joy. At the end of the day, Jacquie and Doug just wanted to get married and I was thrilled to be there for them.
What to (and what not to) ask your potential wedding photographer
It seems like there is light at the end of the tunnel and events are starting to be planned again. If you're just starting on your wedding planning journey and looking for a photographer, here are some things to consider and suggestions on what you should (and shouldn't) ask your wedding photographer.
Intimate Sand Harbor Microwedding | Heather + Evan
I walked into Heather and Evan's Sand Harbor microwedding not quite knowing what to expect. It's one of my favorite ways to roll into a wedding day: with a little bit of mystery and excitement over the unknown. When I arrived, I gauged from their friends and family that were already gathered EXACTLY what the day was going to be like: full of relaxed laughter, good natured ribbing, and rapidly flowing alcohol. They were my kind of people. Read more about their intimate wedding on the shores of Lake Tahoe here.
